Beavers

5th August 2024

George is part of a group of Avon Beavers  ( 3rd Tewkesbury Beavers ) that visited the foodbank earlier in the year to help pack bags and see how the foodbank works for local people, as part of a badge they were working towards. George was so taken by the work and that people need food that he wanted to help more. So he made posters, which he displayed in his village and school asking for donations. He and his siblings donated their pocket money, his parents and grandparents matched every penny they donated, then mum took them shopping to choose the food which was added to the donations collected from school and the village.   A total of 58 Kg. What an amazing young boy!
George also had a bit of a surprise when he came in on Wednesday, his mum had organised for the Beavers Leader to be present, George was awarded with an extra special badge for his work and community engagement.
