TRUSSELL TRUST LATEST STATISTICS May 2018

3rd May 2017

FOR THE END OF FINANCIAL YEAR 2017/2018

The UK use of foodbanks is still continuing to rise.

In the period above the number of 3 day emergency food supplies given to people in crises by the Trussell Trust Foodbanks has increased by 13% to 1,332,952   compared with 1,182,954  in 2016/2017. Of this number 484,026 went to children.

Low income, benefit delays or changes are still the main reasons for referral to our foodbanks.

In total the Trussell Trust has 428 foodbanks and relies on donated food.

In Tewkesbury we processed 442 vouchers (for 2017/2018) which represented 648 adults, 400 children, making a total of food supplied to 1,048  people. ( 9,432 meals)   These figures don’t include the families and individuals supported by our Christmas blessings and school holiday meals projects, which would add significantly to these figures.

We would like to say a BIG THANKYOU TO to everyone IN TEWKESBURY who supports the foodbank; to our dedicated volunteers and to those who donate food and money, without whom we could not survive.
